At Richards Style, we want you to feel comfortable and confident in every piece you wear. Our Size Guide is designed to help you choose the right size when shopping for women’s clothing online.
Because styles, fabrics, and cuts can vary between products, we recommend reviewing the individual product description before placing your order.
The measurements below are general reference guidelines. They are not a guarantee that every garment will fit identically.
The following chart provides an approximate conversion between common UK, US, and European women’s clothing sizes.
| UK Size | US Size | EU Size | Bust (cm) | Waist (cm) | Hips (cm) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|

Please note: This is a general sizing reference for women’s clothing, not a measurement chart for every product. Individual items may use different sizing standards. Always check the product-specific measurements where available.
For more accurate results, use a soft measuring tape and measure over lightweight clothing. Keep the tape comfortably snug without pulling it too tightly.
Measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the measuring tape level across your back.
Measure around your natural waistline, usually the narrowest part of your torso. Stand naturally and avoid tightening your stomach.
Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
For trousers or jeans, measure from the top of the inner thigh to the point where you want the hem to fall. If possible, compare this measurement with a pair of trousers that already fits you well.
Different clothing styles are designed to fit differently. Use the following suggestions as a starting point.
Tops and blouses
Check the bust measurement and shoulder fit. If a design has a fitted cut or limited stretch, consider whether you prefer a closer or more relaxed fit.
Dresses
Compare your bust, waist, and hip measurements with the product information. For fitted dresses, use the measurement that requires the most room as your starting point.
Trousers and jeans
Pay particular attention to waist, hip, rise, and inseam measurements where provided. Denim and structured fabrics may fit differently from stretch materials.
Skirts
Use the waist and hip measurements to guide your choice. Also check the listed garment length if you have a preferred hemline.
Oversized clothing
Oversized pieces are intentionally designed with extra room. Review the garment measurements and model information rather than automatically choosing a larger size.
If your measurements fall between two sizes, consider the garment’s fabric, cut, and intended fit.
For a closer fit, the smaller size may be suitable if your measurements fall comfortably within its range.
For a more relaxed fit, the larger size may be preferable.
For non-stretch or structured garments, prioritize the measurements most relevant to that item.
For stretchy fabrics, consider the amount of stretch and the fit described on the product page.
If you are unsure, contact our customer service team before placing your order.
Body measurements and garment measurements are not the same.
Body measurements describe the dimensions of your body.
Garment measurements describe the actual dimensions of a clothing item when measured flat or according to the measurement method specified.
A garment may be larger than your body measurements to allow room for movement and comfort. This additional room is commonly referred to as ease.
Please check the relevant product page to determine whether the listed measurements refer to the body or the garment itself.
The way an item fits may be affected by its fabric composition, construction, cut, and intended design.
For example, knitted fabrics may provide more flexibility than woven fabrics, while tailored garments may have a more structured fit.
Small measurement differences may also occur during manufacturing. Product descriptions and size information should be used together when deciding which size to purchase.
If the product page provides specific measurements or fit recommendations, those details should take priority over this general guide.
International size labels are not fully standardized. A UK size and its approximate US or EU equivalent may fit differently depending on the brand, manufacturer, and garment style.
The conversion chart on this page should therefore be used as a general reference rather than an exact guarantee.
When shopping from outside the United Kingdom, we recommend comparing the measurements in centimetres with your own measurements before completing checkout.
If you need assistance selecting a size, our customer service team will be happy to help.
